Letter from the Publisher by Scott Bilker
Hi,
I have a
couple interesting items this week.
First up
is the monkey. Ah yes, the monkey. This
is really funny. In fact, I'm sure
you'll make your own monkey once you
hear what I have to say. Click

Next
up...the DebtSmart® Master Plan!
I've been
developing a specialized service
to offer you that can keep money in your
pocket. Essentially, more money for you
to use to pay off your debt or invest in
your future!
Over the
past couple years, I've worked on
several individual
cases--not credit counseling, but what I
call, Debt Management Coaching. On a
limited basis, I've been helping people
over the past 15+ years. However, I've
never advertised it because, up until
now, I didn't have the system organized
to the point that I could offer it to
everyone. Now everything is ready, and I'll
be able to work with more people. I'll
talk more about it further along in this
email newsletter issue.
Fantastic
info, not for scatterbrains though. I
have three cards currently all intro 0%
wondering if I made a cash advance of
say $1,000.00 then immediately took
advantage of 0% balance transfer, would
I still be liable for the 24.99% advance
rate as well as the fee even though
account was paid off the same day or at
least within billing cycle? Trying to
avoid cash advance suicide, also are
there any fund transfer services that
make the bank think it's a purchase?
"It took me
7 minutes to settle a 4,374.81 debt at
50% with Wells Fargo Financial. Piece of
Cake--with your book, of course! Thank
you! My husband has leukemia and had to
have a bone marrow transplant, we
traveled out of state for the transplant
and are both not working. You are
directly helping us get our lives back
on track, be proud!"
Summer is
here and you've got the pool going.
After reviewing your records from last
year, you figure that it cost $25 per
week for chemicals, $80 per month for
electricity, and $70 in replacement
parts to operate the pool for the entire
season. The swimming season lasts about
100 days. The good news is that the pool
gets plenty of use, mostly from your
three children. But now there's another
option. A swimming club has just opened
right around the corner and the cost is
$50 per month per person. Considering
the known costs, is it less expensive to
sign the kids up for the swimming club
or use the pool?
There are as
many reasons that people overspend as
there are budgets to help get people out
of the debt overspending has caused. By
talking to people, conducting surveys,
and helping people throughout the years,
I have made a list of ten reasons for
overspending that I hear most often.
Take a look to see if you fall in line
with one or more of these causes to
indulge.
10.
Keeping up an image Many people feel
that if they fall below a certain image
that the neighbors set, the neighborhood
will think less of them. This is known
as keeping up with the Jones'. The truth
behind this is that the neighbors are
thinking and feeling the same way.
When people
want to get in good physical shape, they
hire a personal trainer. How about when
they want to get in good financial
shape? That would call for a debt
management coach. There's no shame in
seeking professional advice. It's simply
a smart, efficient means to achieving
your goal.
Most people
don't need debt counseling, bankruptcy,
or debt negotiation. What they really
need is a
fresh-perspective and trusted guidance
from a coach.
That's
why I've developed the DebtSmart® Master
Plan! The plan is a detailed review of
your financial situation with specific
direction on how to pay off your
current debts. I personally create the plan based on your
unique financial situation. And, I'm the only
person working on your case, so you can
be sure that everything is confidential,
safe, and accurate.
It's been 15+
years that I've been helping people save
money (and make money), and now I want to
help you do the same.
Why is the
price of cereal so high? How much does
it really cost to make corn flakes with
sugar coating?
I have a
major problem paying $3.89 for a box of
cereal that more than likely cost $0.35
to make! What if I were to tell you that
I NEVER, EVER pay more than $0.50 for a
box of name-brand, good tasting cereal?
You are probably thinking "no way" or
"not possible!" But it is! How, you say?
By using coupons, yes coupons.
You know
what they are. Those little pieces of
paper that people have in the grocery
checkouts that drive you absolutely
insane because they hold up the line.
And of course you always manage to get
behind someone that has what seems to be
more than the world's share of coupons.
Those of you
that have children know what an
excursion to the local mall or
supermarket can be like. If you're not
careful, this simple trip can easily
become a wallet draining experience.
How often
have you heard:
"I want
Lunchables because EVERYONE eats them at
lunch!" "Come on mom, these cool pants
only cost $80." "Dad, everyone has a
Playstation II, I need one too!" "I need
2 sodas and 2 bags of chips every day!"
Couples don't talk much
about money before committing to each other. Nearly
two-thirds of married couples said they talked little or
not at all before the wedding about how to combine their
finances.
More credit, more options
Credit options are your weapon against the banks! The key to
success is using your credit lines to save money--not to go
crazy spending!
