LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER
by Scott Bilker
Hi,
Last summer I used homemade
flashcards to help my son with multiplication. They were VERY
helpful! I mentioned this in a previous email newsletter, but there
have been many new subscribers since then that may have missed it.
I wanted to use flashcards, but I
wasn't satisfied with what I found in the store, so I developed my
own. The cards are 2.5 x 3.5 inches and are very basic, which is
what I want. You're free to download and print the cards! Just be
sure to print double- sided, in other words, the back of page 1 is
page 2. The easiest way to print with Acrobat is: (1) even pages in
reverse; (2) odd pages.

Have a great day!
Regards,
Scott

ENTREPRENEUR BOOKS REVIEW OF
"TALK YOUR WAY OUT OF CREDIT CARD DEBT"
by Peter Hupalo
"Talk Your Way Out Of Credit
Card Debt: Phone Calls To Banks That Saved More Than $43,000 In
Interest Charges and Fees! is a great book about negotiating with
credit card companies to reduce interest rates and eliminate fees.
This advice can save you thousands of dollars, if you carry a credit
card balance. The savings Bilker achieved were significant. In one
phone call, Bilker got the bank to lower the interest rate from
13.72% to 8.75%, saving $4,320.00, based upon the existing credit
card balance. I highly recommend...

10 CREDIT MYTHS
by Scott Bilker
As they say, "Knowledge is
power." Many times people either act on false information or
fail to act because they didn't know what could be done to their
benefit. This is the case in many areas of life, but on the top of
that list is money. And in the money category you will find lots of
misinformation about credit.
There is so much to talk about on the
topic of credit myths that...

HOW MUCH?
by Gary Foreman
Gary, I understand that 25% of my
monthly income should be for mortgage, taxes and insurance. How much
should I plan for the remainder of my budget? There are two of us in
our household. Is there a set formula? Also, if I plan to retire in
the next 5 years, should I be carrying a mortgage for the sake of a
tax write off?
--Debbie
Debbie's first question is a very
good one. Knowing how much you can afford to spend in any category
is important to a successful financial plan.
There is no set formula for dividing
up a budget. That's because every family is unique. Housing costs
vary by region. Family size and age will effect...
